How to make
Step 1: Steam the Idlis
Prepare mini idlis using ready-made idli batter and a mini idli mold.
Allow them to cool slightly after steaming.
Step 2: Prepare the Tikka Marinade
In a mixing bowl, whisk the yogurt until smooth.
Add ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, coriander powder, cumin powder, lemon juice, roasted gram flour, and salt. Mix well to form a thick marinade.
Step 3: Marinate the Idlis
Gently coat the steamed idlis in the prepared marinade, ensuring they are evenly covered.
Let the idlis marinate for at least 20 minutes to absorb the flavors.
Step 4: Cook the Idli Tikka
Heat a non-stick pan or grill pan over medium heat.
Drizzle a little oil or ghee and place the marinated idlis on the pan.
Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until the marinade turns golden and slightly charred.
Alternatively, you can skewer the marinated idlis and grill them in an oven or over a barbecue.
Step 5: Serve
Arrange the Idli Tikka Delight on a serving plate. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves, a sprinkle of chaat masala, and lemon wedges.
Serve hot with mint chutney, tamarind chutney, or a creamy yogurt dip.
