How to make

Step 1: Prepare the Masala Mix
Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a pan over medium heat. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.
Add cumin seeds and asafoetida. Sauté for a few seconds.
Add grated ginger, chopped green chilies, and onions. Sauté until onions are soft and translucent.
Add the grated carrot and chopped bell pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes until slightly softened.
Add salt to taste and mix well. Turn off the heat and let the mixture cool.
Step 2: Combine with Batter
Add the prepared masala mix and chopped coriander leaves to the dosa batter.
Mix well, ensuring the batter has a thick but pourable consistency.
Step 3: Cook the Appe
Heat an appe pan (paniyaram pan) over medium heat and lightly grease each cavity with oil.
Pour a spoonful of the batter into each cavity, filling it about 3/4 full.
Cover and cook for 2-3 minutes until the bottom turns golden brown.
Flip the appe using a skewer or spoon and cook the other side for 2-3 minutes.
Repeat with the remaining batter.
Step 4: Serve
Serve hot Masala Appe with coconut chutney, tomato chutney, or sambar for a flavorful snack.
